Affirmation of God: Christ lives in me.

Today’s Scripture: Galatians 2:20 NIV: I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Do you have a life verse that you claim above all others? Galatians 2:20 is mine. Every time I read it or repeat it my soul and my spirit meet at this place. What does “I have been crucified with Christ” mean to you?

I claimed this verse while I was still a practicing alcoholic. I knew I was the problem. I was practicing what Paul was talking about in Galatians 2. I was living a hypocritical life. I knew I had to die. Funny thing when I admitted I was powerless over my addictions I was able to admit I was powerless, period.

An amazing thing happened, when I died, Christ filled me. Yes Christ lives in me just as He promised. The life I live in the body I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me. What verse brings you to life?

Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, I continue to offer myself up to You and thank You for taking my old life and giving me Your new life.. I thank You for living in me. You fill me Lord. Please take this life that I live in the flesh and strengthen my faith so I too may give myself up for others. In Your holy and mighty name I pray. Amen

Affirmation of God: God’s love is perfected in me.

Today’s Scripture: 1 John 4:12 ESV: No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.

How is it that we can perfect God’s love? We perfect it by giving it to others.

It is not always easy to love others, is it? We are not always loveable are we? 1 John 4 states we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. It is obvious for others and us which spirit we are living in at every moment.

God loves us when we are unlovable and we perfect His love when we give His love to the unlovable and lovable alike. Because He first loved us we can love all others. I confess that Jesus came to earth in the flesh to show us God’s love and to teach us to give it to others.

None of us have seen God is a reminder to rely not on what we know but on the love God gave us. Will you perfect God’s love?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your love and for Your Son Jesus Christ. You sent Jesus in the flesh to teach us Your love. Live in me LORD, love through me Heavenly Father. Use me to perfect Your love. I confess Jesus Christ and confess Your love. Reveal Your love through me as I show more or You and less of me. Amen

Affirmation of God: I aim to please God.

Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:9 ESV; So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

I came to these verses today as I strained to see the unseen. How do I learn to fix my eyes on the unseen as instructed in 2 Corinthians 4:18? I keep searching His Word and His Spirit and walk by faith.

God gave us the Spirit to guarantee we can see. God knows who we are. He wants us to see it too. If we look to Him we will find Him and who we are.

Living for Jesus Christ as instructed in 2 Corinthians 5:15 is the answer to many questions. We are promised to be a new creation in Him. To live out this new creation I no longer look to my own flesh and sight but walk by faith and aim to please God.

In Jesus we become who God knows we are. The Spirit is how we see it too. Are you aiming with the Spirit? I find who I AM in who I AIM.

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus and for Your Spirit. I am asking that Your Spirit teach me to see who You know I am. Please reveal the ministry of reconciliation You have for me. I aim to please You LORD to live out the new creation You intended for me. Help me to see and help me to walk by faith. Amen

Affirmation of God: The Spirit gives me life.

Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:6 ESV; who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

We are God’s recommendation letter. The Spirit of the living God has written on our hearts the message we are. Sharing our hearts is what the world needs.

We are sufficient to be ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. The glory once found in the letter of the law fades. The Spirit never fades He GIVES LIFE!

I have come to know this Spirit, have you? Seriously, in the stillness of your time before God have you come to know and experience the Holy Spirit? If not, pray for God to help you to recognize His Spirit. If you spend enough time with Him and time in His Word you will shine the light of the Spirit that no veil can cover.

The Spirit is alive in you and gives you confidence, boldness and freedom to be who is written on your heart. What is the world reading in you?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the life of Jesus who taught us we too can be one with You in the Spirit. LORD thank You for giving me Your Spirit. I pray to live the life You have given me in the Spirit. I will boldly proclaim what You have written on my heart. Amen

Affirmation of God: I find the comfort of God in quietness.

Today’s Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:6 ESV; Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.

We have a comforter. Will be still long enough to find this comfort? Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:1 that the people had no comforter but He also tells us we will find our comforter in the quietness.

We can toil and strive and find we have no comfort. Prior to coming back to this verse today I was having a quiet time with God that was being hijacked by the multitude of racing thoughts about those things in which I toil.

Yet, it was good to give up on my thoughts and trust in His quietness. I definitely found comfort in being with Him and trusting His communion with my spirit. Giving up striving after the winds of this world and lying quietly before Him I found in my nothingness I find His everything.

For whom do we toil and deprive ourselves of God’s pleasure and comfort?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being my comforter. Thank You for revealing Yourself in the quietness of being with You. LORD, You know all eternal things and I trust you over the tyranny of the urgent and the vanity of striving after the winds of this world. Thank You for showing Your love in the quiet. Amen

Affirmation of God: The Lord’s grace is sufficient for me.

Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV; But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I have all I need; more than enough. With God’s grace I am complete. So complete is God’s grace that I struggle to peer beyond it now. So many days His word fills me with love, joy and hope yet all seem to pale at this moment in the light of His grace.

Is it because those of us who are forgiven much truly are stunned by His grace? His grace makes me thankful for my weaknesses. As this verse states it is here in my weaknesses that I have come to know the God’s power. Like Paul I will boast of my weaknesses because it is here where the power of Christ has come to rest upon me.

Do you truly believe that the Lord’s grace is sufficient for you? Have you found the power of Christ in your weaknesses?

Today’s Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your grace. I cherish Your grace and welcome Your power. I thank you for my weaknesses that have opened my soul and life to Your power. Rest upon me Lord. In You I am complete. Amen

Affirmation of God: I bow my head and give up my spirit.

Today’s Scripture: John 19:30 ESV: When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

It is finished. No more struggles and beatings from this world. I follow the example of Jesus and bow my head and give up my spirit.

I give up my spirit to God and believe His Spirit will take it from here. We have a fighting spirit don’t we? Misdirected at times but we fight nonetheless. When we finally give it up we come to know God and His Spirit.

Jesus’ life and His death were examples for us. If He gave up His spirit shouldn’t we? It is finished. When we no longer live for this world and for ourselves we find the Spirit that is a gift from God. This Spirit prays for us when we can not. This Spirit guides us when we do not know the way. It is here in this place we come to know and serve God.

Have you given up your spirit?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for the life and death of Jesus. I believe and know Jesus is telling the truth. I give You my spirit LORD and trust You to fill me and to guide me. Your Spirit fills me with joy, peace and reassurance of intimacy with You. I trust the communion of Your Spirit with You and trust Your direction. Amen

Affirmation of God: I use my gifts.

Today’s Scripture: Romans 12:6 ESV: Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;

You have something right now that someone needs and I am encouraging you to use what you have. Most times we don’t think we have much and think we have to get to a certain point in our lives before we can give or be of much use to anyone.

So not true. In Romans 12:3 we are instructed to give in the measure of faith we have been given. This does not say you will one day reach a level of faith you can give but give in the measure you have already been given.

What each of us has been given is different. You and I are gifted with different things but gifted nonetheless. This affirmation is my gift to you and I appeal to you today to use what you have right now.

What do you have today you use for others?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your people, Your body. Thank You for gifting each of us to serve the other members of Your body. Embolden us to use what You have given us confidently and boldly. Keep evil and doubts far from us and remind us we have enough in You. Build our faith. Amen

Affirmation of God: Lord, increase my faith.

Today’s Scripture: Luke 17:5 ESV; The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

The apostles living and walking with Jesus knew they didn’t have the faith He required. We don’t either. The Good News of Jesus Christ is that He is the author and finisher of our faith and He will increase our faith if we ask.

Jesus says we just need to have the tiniest bit of faith as small as a mustard seed and HE will turn it into a BIG, HUGE, illogical faith.

Let us keep going to Him like the woman to the judge in the following chapter. We must remain humble and realize, like the apostles, we need the Lord to increase our faith. We are unworthy servants called to do our duty. It takes Lord size faith to complete our duty and He will provide it if we will ask.

Have you asked the LORD to increase your faith?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, increase my faith. I thank You for the faith and healing You have already given me. LORD, increase my faith and forgive me for when I cling to my understanding or look back and consider things of this world. Prepare me, fill me to do Your will and keep my eyes towards You. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am filled with the fullness of God.

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 3:19 ESV: and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Paul was attempting to explain this mystery to the Ephesians over two thousand years ago and this is mostly still a mystery today. Do we really grasp what being filled with the fullness of God is all about?

In Ephesians 3:9 we are reminded that God created ALL things. All includes you and me. Paul tells us that Jesus took us with Him to heavenly places in Ephesians 2:6. “and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (ESV)

He did not say he will raise us but that He DID. Do we understand this mystery?

With God now; filled with His fullness now. We are alive in Christ and He is alive in us. The Spirit of God lives in us now.

Will you accept the fullness of God and the power and strength of the Spirit that is in you today?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being in me now. Help me to understand and grasp Your fullness. I believe Jesus has brought me into Your Heavenly places and I want to live Your fullness now. Guide me with Your Holy Spirit to fully know You and be used by You fully. Amen
