Affirmation of God: I desire the Father’s will over my own.

Today’s Scripture: Mark 14:36 ESV: And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

Our will, our flesh, can lead us contrary to God’s will can’t it? As Jesus said to the disciples just two verses later in Mark: 14:38 “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (ESV) We must stay alert and pray.

Selfishly going and doing what I want only robs me of God’s will and witnessing His miracles. I need God’s help in asking where I should go and what I should do. Too many times I just go and do what I want. If I only would recall that His will is fulfilling, impactful and eternal.

The disciples asked, they went and they found just what Jesus told them they would. We just need to ask, to go and trust we will find what God tells us we will.

Will we ask Jesus where we are to go today? Do we desire His will over our own?

Today’s Prayer: Abba Father, all things are possible for You and I ask You to show me Your will. LORD, where do You want me to go? Help me to hear You clearly and help me to desire Your will over my own. Build up my spirit so that I will allow You to overcome my flesh. I trust I will find what You promise. Amen

Affirmation of God: God is faithful.

Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV: No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

Paul was reminding the Corinthians of God’s faithfulness to His people here in 1 Corinthians 10. He began the chapter reminding them of God’s faithfulness and provision to their ancestors who wandered in the wilderness for those forty years.

Just as He provided the spiritual food and spiritual water to them He provided it for the Corinthians and for us. In 1 Corinthians 10:4 we are reminded that Christ is our Rock. The spiritual and supernatural waters that flowed to provide the needs of those in the desert still flow for us today.

The Rock that followed them continues to follow us and His waters guide us. Christ is our Rock and if we follow the flow of His waters He will provide us the way to His promises for us. As our spirits follow His Spirit we will witness God’s faithfulness.

Is your faith in a rock or the Rock?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for providing all of the spiritual food and spiritual water I need in Jesus Christ. Just as You have provided for those who have gone before me I trust Your faithfulness. LORD keep me ever mindful that You are my source and You are always faithful. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am doing exactly what the Father has commanded me to do

Today’s Scripture: John 14:31 GWT: However, I want the world to know that I love the Father and that I am doing exactly what the Father has commanded me to do. Get up! We have to leave.”

Words are not enough. We must DO what the Father has commanded us to do. John 14 convicts me of actions being more important than words.

Jesus stated here in John 14:31 that He wanted the world to know that He loved the Father by seeing that He did exactly what God had commanded Him to do. That is my hope too. That others will know the love I have for the Father but more importantly the love that God has for them.

We learn as we go with Jesus. As we go with Him He teaches us about what the Father has commanded us to do. We must leave this place and go with Him. The more we learn from Jesus the more we know the way to go. We just need to keep going in the way He is leading each of us.

Are you willing to go and do as the Father has commanded you?

Today’s Prayer: Father God I love you. Forgive me for not going and doing more. Forgive me for allowing worry to prevent me from doing what I believe You have commanded me to do. I need You LORD to continue to teach me in the way I am to go. I am asking Your Holy Spirit to remind me of everything Jesus said so I may leave this place and go and do exactly what You have commanded me to do. Help me go. Amen

Affirmation of God: In Jesus I find the fullness of God.

Today’s Scripture: Colossians 1:19 ESV: For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,

I love Colossians 1. There are so many truths and promises of the power of God given to us. Here in these verses is the secret to a fulfilled life.

The fullness of God is in Jesus and the mystery referred to in Colossians 1:27 is that Christ lives in us. The fullness of God dwells in Jesus and Jesus dwells in us and this allows us to know the riches of God’s glory. In His riches and in His glory we know fullness.

In His fullness I know His grace, His peace and His hope. We are strengthened by God’s power that is in us to have endurance and patience with joy. I thank God that He transfers us from the darkness of this world into the kingdom of Jesus. As I stay in the kingdom of Jesus I am truly full.

Do you find the fullness of God from Jesus who is living within you?

Today’s Prayer: Father God I thank you as I am praying for others and myself to fully know you in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Help us to live in the Spirit and Kingdom of Jesus. Help us to know You and to know that You created all things for yourself; not for us. Thank for placing Jesus within me. Amen

Affirmation of God: I have tasted the goodness of God.

Today’s Scripture: 1 Peter 2:3 ESV: if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

God was so good to send Jesus to us. If we long for feeding off the lessons of Jesus we get to taste the goodness of God. I have tasted enough to long for more.

In 1 Peter 2 we are told to long for this pure spiritual milk like newborn infants. By this spiritual milk we grow into salvation. In this growing up we are told we are being built up to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God.

When He calls us out of our darkness into His wonderful light we are able to share with others the goodness we have tasted. Indeed I know I have tasted the goodness of God and it is my joy, and His, to share the good I have tasted.

We have been called to taste the good and do good by sharing the tastes and healing we have received.

Have you tasted the goodness of God?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and for the nourishment of Your Spirit. Thank You for providing me with the spiritual milk so that I may grow in You and also share with others so they too may see Your good deeds and glorify You. I have tasted that You are good LORD, please grow me and build me to do good. Amen

Affirmation of God: God’s love has been poured into my heart.

Today’s Scripture: Romans 5:5 ESV: and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

I rejoice in God and I pray the love and hope that has been poured into me can spill into others yet to know this love.

I trust God to show His love. I have faith that the Holy Spirit will pour into every heart. Can we share what has been poured into us?

Two verses earlier in 5:3 Paul reminds us to rejoice in our sufferings. I do rejoice in my addictions and they are the best things that ever happened to me. It may sound strange but in these sufferings is where I came to know God and experience His love. We are told our sufferings produce endurance that produces character that produces hope.

The hope and love that has been poured into me is what I want to pour into others. God has overflowed my heart.

What will you do today with the love and hope that has been poured into you?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Jesus who justified me. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who poured Your love into me. Forgive me for hoarding Your love. Help me to share with others the love and hope You have poured into my heart. I rejoice in You! Amen

Affirmation of God: My confidence is in the Spirit of God.

Today’s Scripture: Philippians 3:3 NLT: For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort,

I am filled with confidence that my future is being directed by the Spirit of God. Knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and what He did for me makes me know my future is in His hands.

It is not what I can do but what the Spirit of God will do through me. Having no confidence in my flesh and my efforts puts total reliance on God and His Spirit. Knowing Christ Jesus my Lord is the only thing worthwhile. However, in losing myself and everything else for Christ I find my value, my greatness and my direction.

I find myself in Christ. I will press on today trusting the Spirit of God to transform me. God has goals for me and He will reveal them to me by His Spirit.

I am confident in the Spirit of God and trust His direction.

Do you find your confidence in the Spirit of God?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Jesus Christ my Lord. I place all my confidence in You. Reveal your plans for me and transform me with Your Spirit so that I may obey what you teach me. I rejoice in Your Spirit and know You will show Yourself through me. All of my confidence is in You. Amen

Affirmation of God: God loves me.

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 2:4 ESV: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,

Isn’t it amazing how life can make us forget to say GOD LOVES ME? Whether we are in the midst of abundant blessings or heavy loads I pray we can remember the bottom line that God loves us, me and you.

Ephesians 2 is so filled with powerful messages. We can claim the abundance God has for us and remember all of His promises and gifts. All are because He love us.

God shows us the immeasurable riches of His grace in these verses. The gifts God has given us in Jesus and the Holy Spirit. With them we have grace, hope and peace and the knowledge He will raise us above the lusts of our bodies and minds to live for Him. Why? He loves us.

Can you thank God for loving you today?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for Jesus and the Holy Spirit who give me access to You. I know You alone can raise me above my mind and body. Help me to live for the body of Christ instead of in my flesh. I live and hope in You and thank You for living in me. Amen

Affirmation of God: I accept the LORD’s invitation.

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 1:18 ESV: Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

Do you think you can reason with the LORD? Do you think the most important thing is to reason or simply to come to Him? Once again, I am consumed by His majesty and I want to speak of His glorious presence.

Although I am a wretched sinner God is teaching me His ways; coming to Isaiah today I have found God’s majesty. What if I had chosen not to come? Would the LORD be any less or would it just be me that would have missed His Glory.

When we come to Him, He teaches us, He reveals His path for us and He humbles us to show He will take our scarlet sins and make them white as snow.

Do you accept the LORD’s invitation to come to Him? I promise if you will come He will reveal Himself and teach you His ways.

Today’s Prayer: Almighty LORD thank You for Your Word and for Isaiah and those You have given Your vision. LORD I seek Your vision. I am in great need of Your vision and of Your cleansing. Thank You for nourishing me as I listen and pay attention to You. I know You are my master and I love You. Thank You for Your invitation and for revealing Yourself. Amen

Affirmation of God: I throw all my worries on God.

Today’s Scripture: 1Peter 5:7 ISV: Throw all your worry on him, because he cares for you.

Do you have any worries you need to throw on God? Just throw them into the strong hands of God; He cares for you. Why do we hold onto anxieties and worries? Do we really believe God cares?

If we stand firm in our faith and believe God cares we can throw Him our worries.

We can trust His promise in verse ten that although we suffer for a little while God will restore, strengthen and support us. Yes, we may suffer a little while but it is not worry that saves us it is God Himself.

The promise here to you and me is that if we will stand firm in the grace of God, we who are in Christ will have peace.

Do you have any worries you need to throw on God today? Go ahead. He has strong hands and He cares for you.

Today’s Prayer: Father God thank You for caring for me. Thank You for Your Word that reminds me to throw my worries and cares on You. Thank You for Your strong hands that restore, strengthen and support me. Your support is all I need. Help me to stand firm in faith and to live in Christ so I experience Your peace. Amen
