Affirmation of God: I receive God’s Words into my heart.

Today’s Prayer: Proverbs 2:1 ESV: My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,

I love the “steps” given to us in Proverbs 2:1-5. The how-to manual is complete. Let us consider the first step in this divine order to RECEIVE MY WORDS.

How do you receive God’s Words?  Is it a passing sermon, the reading of His Holy Scriptures, a Spiritual feeding, memorization, a personal experience, or lyric in a song? Just what are ways you can receive God’s Word into your heart? It is clear that a mere fly by is not what God’s Word is speaking of here. Receive is a verb, an action required on our part.

How great is it that we just have to receive. It is here for us. No need to create it, No need for a new way or a new revelation. God’s Word is here; written, spoken and revealed.

What are some ways you welcome and receive God’s Word?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, I welcome and receive Your Word into my heart. Engrave Your Word in me O LORD. Prepare my heart, my mind and my soul to receive Your Word. Thank You for your divine order and for revealing to us the steps we can take to understand and know You. Fill me Holy Spirit and help me to receive all of You. Amen

Affirmation of God: I follow Godly passions.

Today’s Scripture: Jude 1:18 ESV: They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.”

Do we follow our dreams and passions or those of God? We should ask God to fill us with His dreams and passions.

Just as Jude promised we experience scoffers that think Godly passions are somehow secondary to those of man.

I came to Jude today after seeing a promise that it is God who is able to keep us from stumbling. He is “able”; will be trust Him? Will we seek His path and take His steps or follow OUR dreams. He has a path for us and He fills us with passion to follow it. Our challenge is to choose His passions over the passions of the flesh and the world.

This is NOT easy, it is a narrow way. The world and even our very own flesh do not keep us from stumbling; it is GOD WHO IS ABLE.

Will you pray to God to reveal His passions in you and help you follow them?

Today’s Prayer: All glory is Yours O God. Thank You for saving me through our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Spirit who plants seeds and grants visions to see how we can help prepare the paths of those who seek to follow You. Fill me with Your passions O God. Your passions are all I want to follow and I need Your help to keep from stumbling. Amen

Affirmation of God: I praise the LORD both now and forever.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 115:18 NLT: But we can praise the LORD both now and forever! Praise the LORD!

The LORD has unfailing love and faithfulness towards us. Isn’t that cause for praise? It is not about our glory and praise but His! The first verse of Psalm 115 states “not to us” twice. We do not offer glory and praise for us but to Him!

As long as we are alive we can trust and praise the LORD. It is not about what we can do or have done but about fearing and praising God.

As I read along in Psalm 115 I realized I could not contain my praise of Him both now and forever. My praise is not dependent on daily circumstances but out of His love and His faithfulness.

As we are reminded in Psalm 115:11 The LORD is our helper and our shield. I trust and praise Him. He richly blesses both us and our children! Praise be to the LORD!

Will you praise the LORD both now and forever?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, I do praise Your name and give You all glory. I am more than amazed that You, who made the heavens and the earth, bless the small and the great with Your increase. Your love and Your faithfulness continue to increase and I ask you to strengthen my trust and increase my praise. All of my praise is to You both now and forever. Amen

Affirmation of God: The LORD is holding me in His hand.

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 62:3 NLT: The LORD will hold you in his hand for all to see–a splendid crown in the hand of God.

I find it strange that there is so much comfort found in something I cannot comprehend. I cannot fathom the hand of God and yet somehow I believe, feel and know I am held in it

Isaiah 61 and 62 are full of reminders of how blessed we are and how we can rejoice in the portion God has given us. We can rejoice because God rejoices and delights in us, His children. My soul rejoices in my God and just as stated in Isaiah 62:1, I WILL NOT KEEP SILENT. I must share this joy.

I pray to share this thing I cannot understand with those who need it. The warmth and strength of His hand; the everlasting joy He has blessed us with. Forget understanding and just seek Him and if you haven’t experienced it yet, you will.

Have you ever known something in your heart you could not explain?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for holding me in Your hand. I praise You and rejoice in You. LORD help me to speak to whoever it is You desire. Use me LORD to love and speak with those seeking to know Your joy. Teach me the steps to joy that You desire for me to share. LORD, I am praying for Your people. Amen

Affirmation of God: I have a joyful heart.

Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 17:22 ESV: A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Joy is a world away from feeling good.

There is something about a deep abiding joy that is not about feeling good. I am so thankful that I do not have to rely on my feelings or circumstances to have joy.

I have joy because of who God is not because of what is happening to me. I am powerless to gain joy without God. With God’s joy I am full of good medicine.

I will give up everything I have to know God’s joy and in return I feel good. I have found if I seek to feel good, I miss out on joy and find sadness and depression.

People and things will leave us and break our hearts but the joy of the LORD lives forever in our hearts. God’s joy is indeed good medicine and it feels good.

Do you want to feel good or do you want a joyful heart? Choose your medicine carefully.

Today’s Prayer: Father God, I praise You and thank You for Your joy. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who fills my heart in spite of my circumstances. No matter what I face I know that if I turn to You and Your Spirit I find joy, hope, power, strength and peace. All of these things belong to You forever and ever. Amen!

Affirmation of God: I will plan with my heart and trust God for my steps.

Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 16:9 NIV: In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.

Some people are great planners but this is one of my major weaknesses. But it is time.

Where will my plans come from, hmmmm? Am I going to wait for God to speak from the Holy Mountain or the clouds to direct me? Am I waiting on God or is He waiting on me?

I am a dreamer but not a planner. It is time that I plan. My first step is to drop to my knees in prayer and ask Him to guide my heart and then I will write out the plans. How will these plans happen? That’s God’s part; one step at a time. At each step I will allow Him to guide my heart.

How has the LORD directed your steps? Will you pray for me that I am faithful to the plans of my heart and that it is the Spirit of God who guides me? Can I pray for you?

Today’s Prayer: Holy Spirit of God, please guide the plans of my heart. LORD, I only want to desire what You desire. I will write out the plans of my heart and I will trust You to direct my steps. Help me make daily steps and daily plans so that I move far and at the pace You desire. Forgive me for my lack of faith and lack of planning in my life. Forgive me for my laziness. I want to be where You want me LORD. Help me now. Amen

Affirmation of God: I commit my works to the LORD.

Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 NASB: Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established.

We succeed when we commit whatever we do to the LORD. We can expect God’s success and not success defined by the world.

More recent translations of Proverbs 16:3 say if we commit whatever we are doing to the LORD our plans will SUCCEED. The older translations only offered to establish our thoughts and plans

In this verse commitment always comes first. Shouldn’t our goal be to commit whatever we are doing to the LORD? Do we do what we do out of commitment to the LORD or to success?

We can trust the LORD and trust that He will make our thoughts and plans clear and yes, successful. The LORD’s work will always succeed and we can let Him define success for each of us. What we are committed to may not be about our personal success but for the success of others.

Are you committed to the LORD’s success?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, I commit my works to You and trust that You are establishing my thoughts and my plans. Be clear with me LORD. Grant me confidence, wisdom and faith that the thoughts You have given me will complete the works You intend for me to do. I trust You to define success and for clarity to complete Your works. Amen

Affirmation of God: I put my trust in the LORD.

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 57:13 NLT: Let’s see if your idols can save you when you cry to them for help. Why, a puff of wind can knock them down! If you just breathe on them, they fall over! But whoever trusts in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.”

So many times our minds race and we think of all kinds of things when we attempt to pray. We can walk away at times feeling guilty that we didn’t give God our best during His “time”.

Just maybe the LORD is telling us to give Him those things too. Can’t we trust the LORD with ALL we are holding onto? Are there some idols we trust in more, like ourselves, our experience and our knowledge? Can we trust that some of those things idols that pop in our mind are really things God wants to be involved in too?

Just a thought, as my mind raced this morning and I felt refuge and peace in trusting the LORD for those things too. To inherit our land and possess our holy mountain we must trust God with all we have.

Will you put all of your thoughts and needs in the trust of the LORD?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, Help me to put all my trusts in You. I want You Father God to be involved in all of my things, all of my decisions and put my trust that the thoughts I have are Your thoughts. Consume me LORD and blow away all idols I place before You. I know You will answer my call and embrace my trust. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am praying to the great and powerful God, the LORD Almighty.

Today’s Scripture: Jeremiah 32:18 NLT Tyndale: You are loving and kind to thousands, though children suffer for their parent’s sins. You are the great and powerful God, the LORD Almighty.

We have the mind blowing privilege to pray to the LORD who made the heavens and earth with His great power (Jeremiah 32:16 NLT).

God reminds us that He will take away those things we trust over Him. He did it in Ezekiel and Jeremiah’s times and He does it with us today. Isn’t it silly to trust in anything other than Him, our great and powerful God?

Jeremiah 32 8 states: “Then I knew for sure this message I had heard was from the LORD.” Has He removed all of your doubt too?

After Jeremiah affirmed who God is, he acknowledged that “nothing is too hard for you!” If we have accepted this we should keep praying to our great and powerful God, the LORD Almighty and know He is hearing us and can handle anything we face.

Do you acknowledge God’s greatness when you approach Him?

Today’s Prayer:  LORD Almighty, You are the great and powerful God who made all the heavens and the earth. I praise Your name and confess that You have all wisdom and do great and mighty miracles. Thank You for speaking to us through Your word and so much more. Your Spirit, Your timing, Your Word, Your ways have removed all doubt from me. I know You are the LORD and I am eternally grateful for the freedom You give me to pray to You. All blessings are Yours. Amen

Affirmation of God: God lives in me.

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 2:22 ESV: In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

We are being built to have God live in us. We need not wonder where God is. He created us and built us to have His Holy Spirit live in us. We are continually being built as His dwelling place.

Have you ever felt God living in you? Have you been still long enough to try and find Him? I have found that if I am still and seek to know God I have become aware of His presence. The Spirit makes us aware of God in us if we seek to know Him. He is building us into His dwelling place.

Dwelling with God we become aware of His hope, His peace and His good works. He made each of us to be a part of His family so He may live in and through us.

Will anyone see God living in you today?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for living in me. Thank You for the blood of Christ that made this possible. Help me to know Your Spirit more and more. Consume me Father with the good works You prepared in advance for me to do. Help me to improve my conscious contact with the Holy Spirit and have You freely live in and through me. Amen
