Affirmation of God: I go and do as Jesus directs me.

Today’s Scripture: Matthew 21:6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them.

As Jesus and His followers arrived in Jerusalem He sent two disciples to go into the village in front of them to find the donkey and the colt that would fulfill prophecy. Have you ever been directed by Jesus?

We do not know the fears or thought processes of these two disciples but we do know they went and did as Jesus directed and Jesus told them what to say if they were asked. Is Jesus directing you? Could it be that we are like them and the village we are to enter is right in front of us?

Jesus left us the Holy Spirit to remind us of everything he had said. The Holy Spirit still tells us to go and do. We too can fulfill the scriptures and our calling.

If anyone asks you what you are doing simply tell them what Jesus said for you to do.

Will you go and do?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for the life and example of Jesus Christ. I pray to be faithful to the calling and direction You have given me. I am looking to You Lord for direction and I trust Your Spirit to guide me and to make my way clear to fulfill Your Word and to bring Jesus to the village You intend for me. Amen

Affirmation of God: The LORD is here.

Today’s Scripture: The crowds going ahead of Him, and those who followed, were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David; BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD; Hosanna in the highest!” Matthew 21:9 NASB

The LORD has arrived. Yesterday was Palm Sunday when we recall and celebrate Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. Jesus entered on the colt as prophesied hundreds of years before by Zechariah 9:9.

Isn’t it interesting that Hosanna means “save now”? He is here and He still saves now doesn’t he? Wouldn’t it be exciting if we welcome Jesus into our every day with such fanfare? Every day we can announce He is here! Can we show it to the world around us that we are excited and are singing Hosanna in the Highest?

In Matthew 21:10 we are told: And when he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?” The LORD is here and He saves now. Shouldn’t we stir up the whole city every day to where they say who is this Jesus? Let’s sing loud enough to cause a stir.

Today’s Prayer:  Welcome LORD! Thank You for being here now. Thank you for saving me. I sing Your praises. Father God, use me today to cause a stir in my city so that others say “who is this Jesus”. May I sing praises to You and sing thanksgivings for Your saving me. LORD strengthen my faith so I show what I believe and produce the fruits of Your Kingdom. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am light in the Lord.

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 5:8(ESV) for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

We are children of the light. Now that the light of Christ has shown on us what are we to do with it? We are to be this light.

Why do we attempt to be anyone else? I am finding that if we will be the light of the Lord, be children of this light, we will be light to others. We can exert all of our strength to be someone else yet it does not benefit us or others.

Once the light of Christ has shown on us we can leave the darkness behind and become His light. Be bold, be confident and live from the light you have been given. This world needs your light. I am thankful to know what my light is; do you know yours?

I have found through prayer and the reading of God’s Word we come to know our light.

Let your light shine.

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Son and Your light. I am thankful to be Your child and Your light. LORD, help me to shine and help me to see and set free the light in others. Lord God I know if we live as children of Your light we are light and I pray we live there. Use us Lord to free others from their darkness. Amen

Affirmation of God: God’s light has shone in my heart.

Today’s Scripture: For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV

God’s light is the brightest and the warmest of all. Even the beautiful sunrises and sunsets can not compare. Can you see beyond what the eyes can see?

Just this morning as I praised God for another beautiful sunrise He impressed upon my spirit to look beyond what my eyes can see. I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:18 where we are told to fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen for what is unseen is eternal.

Yet reading chapters three and four revealed the true way to see God’s light is through His Spirit. His Spirit allows us to see His light out of the darkness or even beyond the beauty of this world.

Will you allow the Spirit to open the eyes of your heart today?

The Holy Spirit gives us a light and a life that does not fade.

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Holy Spirit that allows us to see and know You. Thank You for opening the eyes of our hearts to see Jesus. I trust You and know You are the source of light and all the power I need for this ministry. When I turn to You I see the light. Thank You for Your Spirit who frees me. Amen

Affirmation of God: I was made to praise God.

Today’s Scripture: I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 138:14 ESV

God made me who I am. He knitted me in the womb and He continues to knit today. Although I do not understand His wonder, I know it and I trust it. My soul knows it. God already knows my today. He knows all of me and all of His purpose for me.

I am thankful, embarrassed and repentant but I know He knows it all. He still loves me and is leading me. Those things I regret are also those things I praise Him for because in those broken places He was knitting the pieces together to make me who I am today.

I was made to praise Him. I praise Him with all of me. I am thankful my soul knows Him and recognizes His light. Knowing God is with me today gives me His peace and His purpose. I do praise God today.

Will you praise God with me today for who He is knitting in you?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonder. I praise You for making me. Thank You for being with me always. Thank You for knitting my weaknesses, failures and gifts into your wonderful design. Search my soul and my mind and bind them with your Spirit to create Your masterpiece. I praise You.  Amen

Affirmation of God: God Teaches me.

Today’s Scripture: Job 36:22; Behold, God is exalted in his power; who is a teacher like him?

Wow, do we forget to ask God to teach us? Have we asked Jesus to teach us; the Holy Spirit? Too often I and I bet you go about our daily activities not thinking to ask God how to do what we are doing.

We get frustrated, disillusioned and even mad at God yet we didn’t even ask! Maybe it is just me but many times I go kicking and screaming before I simply ask. Do I think God is the best teacher or not?

In my quiet time I asked God to teach me. I was reminded that the Holy Spirit was left to teach us everything Jesus had said and done. Yet I look to me. That sounds silly doesn’t it?

We have, waiting for us the Most Powerful, Most Exalted Father waiting for us to ask. Will we?

Nothing is too small, too mundane or too large and too impossible for our God. Ask.

Today’s Prayer: Lord God, maker of Heaven and earth I praise You and I am asking You to teach me how to live as Jesus. Hanging on Your every word and every breath. I am here LORD, teach me. Teach me how to do my job today. Jesus You are the only perfect person and I ask you to teach me to do the responsibilities I have today perfectly. Amen

Affirmation of God: I find God in going.

Feeling my way in the darkened room I asked God to lead me. We have all asked “Lord, lead us not into temptation…if not temptation, where?

Are we following God’s lead? It seems when I cry out and wait for a voice of direction from God the silence crushes me. Yet when I simply go, keep moving, feeling my way in the darkness I can learn to trust Him for my next step, my next touch.

As we go, ask, pray and do we find God.

Matthew 26:42 “So, leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same words again.”

Affirmation: I am going to God again.

Psalm 121:8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

Affirmation: I keep going.

In our coming and going God is there and will keep us if we are seeking Him. As we persistently go He is persistently there.

LORD, please guide us as we go. Please guide our next thought, our next step and our next prayer. We are coming and going with You and we know You are there; thank You LORD for guiding us today.

God’s Treasure Hunt: I treasure these things in my heart.

Today’s Scripture: Luke 2:19 (ESV) “But Mary treasured up these things in her heart, pondering them in her heart.”

Mary treasured up the shepherd’s message from the Lord they had received about Jesus. She pondered them in her heart.

Do you have something you have been treasuring and pondering in your heart? Do you need to run and go share what you have been told about Jesus?

These Affirmations of God are treasures that I must share and I pray you ponder them in your heart so you too will feel this joy, this peace, this all surpassing love I have come to know and trust. This is all I have yet; I do not want them to die in my heart.

Therefore, I have run to you to share this good news. God does speak to us and you will find treasures in His Word. I am thankful you are on this treasure hunt with me.

I am praying you will share the treasures you have been told too.

Today’s Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, thank You for Your angels who bring us good news of great joy. I echo the words Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men; thank You LORD for Your good news. Please help me share the words I have been given and I pray others find their treasures, ponder them in their hearts and share the good news they have been given. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am born of the Spirit. John 3:6-8

Today’s Scripture: John 3:6-8(ESV) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus why he came. Jesus came to show us the way. The way to the Kingdom of heaven is beyond flesh; what is of the Spirit is spirit.

What affirmations and promises do you see in these verses?

“that which is born of the Spirit”:= I am born of the Spirit.

“you must be born again.” = I am born again.

“The wind blows where it wishes”=

  • The Spirit directs me where He wishes.
  • I go with the Spirit.
  • I am blown away by the Spirit.
  • I trust the direction of the Spirit. ( I do not have to understand from where He came or where he is going)

What promises/affirmations can you claim from these scriptures?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus and Your Holy Spirit to us. Thank You for teaching us to be born again in Your Spirit. Help us to grow and nurture our spirits to go with Your Spirit and not the understanding of our flesh. Help us to increase our living in the Spirit and to recognize the inadequacy of our flesh. Amen

Finding your Affirmation of God: John 3:16

Scripture: John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Step 1: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal what the Word is speaking directly to you now.

Step 2: Take this scripture personally and as it has already occurred.

Step 3: Write out and speak what this verse is saying to you.

“For God so loved the world” = God loves me.

“God gave his only Son” = God gave me His only Son; God gave me Jesus; I have Jesus.

“Whosoever believeth in Him”= I believe in Jesus.

“have everlasting life.” = I have everlasting life.

What do you see, feel in your spirit and claim to be true in this scripture?
