Affirmation of God: My soul craves God.

Today’s Scripture: The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied. Proverbs 13:4 ESV

What are you craving? Our bodies, our minds and our souls crave. As our mouth’s water what do we do to fulfill that craving? As our minds dream and expose desires how do we fulfill them?  When our flesh craves evil can we repent and redirect to welcome God’s rich blessings?

We have natural cravings that can sustain or destroy us. May we be diligent to give all of our cravings to God. As our mouths water, as we are tempted to fulfill cravings in unhealthy ways, may we turn that craving to God and diligently pursue Him.

LORD here is my craving, please satisfy it richly. My soul craves You.

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for cravings. LORD, thank You for Your faithfulness and provision. Please help me to be faithful in seeking Your will in all of my cravings. I desire You LORD, my soul craves You. Help me to diligently pursue You. Keep me near. Amen

Affirmation of God: God has placed me here.

Today’s Scripture: but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, Acts 10:40 ESV

God “made Jesus appear” after raising Him from the dead before those He had chosen to be witnesses. Why has God made us appear where we are? What have we witnessed? God has placed us right where we are. What are we to do?

Those witnesses in Caesarea had been chosen by God and were commanded to preach and testify that Jesus was placed here by God to be the judge of the living and the dead. Why has God chosen us to witness what we have witnessed? Can we also preach and testify the Jesus who has been made to appear to us?

The Holy Spirit was poured out upon those witnesses and has also been poured out on us. They spoke in tongues and praised God. Can we not trust that those we testify to will understand our tongue and can we not praise God highly right here were we are?

Where He as placed us we can praise Him! Where has God placed you?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for what You have allowed me to witness in Your Son Jesus and in Your Holy Spirit. I have witnessed Your majesty, Your love and Your grace. Lord use me as Your witness where I am today. Help me to testify of who You are. Thank You for placing me here. Amen

Affirmation of God: I live in thanksgiving.

Today’s Scripture: And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers who stood opposite them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch by watch  Nehemiah 12:27 ESV

In Nehemiah 12:8 we are given names of those “in charge of songs of thanksgiving”. In our verse for today in verse 27 David had commanded them to give thanks watch by watch. They lived in thanksgiving.

It was somebody’s job, at all times, to be singing songs of praise and thanksgiving. What are you doing on your watch? In addition to those in charge, in verse 40 we are told there were choirs of those who gave thanks.

Certainly everyone had their own jobs to do but those of us called to sings songs of thanksgiving have a responsibility to sing. In verse 43 we are told they rejoiced with great joy.

I do rejoice with great joy and I have the responsibility to sing. Whatever job you have been given, be in charge. On your watch, do what you have been called to do with thanksgiving. Hopefully you will hear the songs of this great choir to lift you up and encourage you.

Can you hear the choir of thanksgiving?

Today’s Prayer: Our Father, thank You for the responsibilities You have given me. Thank You for giving me a voice to sing Your thanksgivings. LORD help me to be forever mindful of singing thanksgivings for others. I pray LORD, others will be lifted during their watch by the songs of thanksgiving You have given me. I live in thanksgiving and sing Your eternal songs. Amen

Affirmation of God: I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers.

Today’s Scripture: I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, Philemon 1:4 ESV

“I always thank God” is an affirmation of hope. “I always thank God when I remember others in my prayers.” Is an affirmation of fact.

I can thank my God ALWAYS when I remember others. In Philemon 1 and Colossians 1 this morning I found the connection to thanking God always; remembering others in my prayers.

Do you want to feel thankful today? Do you want to return your thanksgivings to your God? Remember others in your prayers. From prison Paul found thanksgiving in his prayers for others. He was thankful for the work that was being done for the LORD.

Perhaps at times it is easier to trust God and to always be thankful when remembering others. We find and share the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ when we pray for others.

Who do you remember in your prayers today? Pray for them with thanksgiving.

Today’s Prayer: My Heavenly Father, I thank You always as I pray for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ to be with the spirits of others. I find thanksgiving always when looking to Your glory for others. Help me LORD to turn my heart and my spirit to Your work in others. In You LORD I am always thankful. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am thankful the way of the LORD has been prepared for me.

Today’s Scripture: As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, Mark 1:2 ESV

Have you ever felt “lucky”?  Have you ever had experiences where you had very little to do with the outcome you have just experienced?

There is plenty of evidence that the kingdom and the will of God are here with us right now. Regardless of our best efforts and understandings there is a way divine. This divine way has been prepared for you and me. Will we be thankful and trust in the Way we may not yet know?

Our faith in Him who provided the way of life outweighs our understanding of the way. May we only understand that God designed our way, He provides those who prepare the way for us.

LORD forgive me for when I attempt to make my own way. Thank You making Your way appear in the mundane. Thank you for the immediate actions of Your Spirit.

Are you thankful for the way of the LORD?

Today’s Prayer:   Our Father, who art in Heaven thank You for Your way that is here on earth as it is in Heaven. Thank You for those You have sent to prepare Your way and for Your Holy Spirit who reveals it. I confess I too often attempt to make my own way. LORD, I desire and trust in Your way that has already been prepared for me. Help me to move boldly in the knowledge of Your will. Amen

Affirmation of God: The Holy Spirit uses what I have.

Today’s Scripture: As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. Acts 11:15 ESV

The Holy Spirit gave Peter a message to save others and the Holy Spirit fell on those he was speaking to. This same Spirit leads you and me.

As Peter began to speak the Holy Spirit fell on THEM. Did they even hear what Peter said or did they hear the Spirit? I trust you hear now what the Spirit is telling you.

Let us all trust that the Spirit will take what we have and complete God’s purpose through us. He will provide us the words to say and them the ears to hear. He WILL fall on those we are to help.

The last verse in chapter eleven we are told that they were encouraged to give what each person could. What each of us has is enough. What little we have the Holy Spirit will use.

You have something to give today, trust the Holy Spirit to complete it.

Today’s Prayer: Father God, I trust Your Spirit. Please use what I give and complete Your purpose through Your Holy Spirit. I glorify and trust You to use my offering to complete Your will. May Your words and Your Spirit fall upon the hearts You intend so they too will offer up Your saving grace. Show me what I have to give and help me to give generously trusting in Your majesty. Amen

Affirmation of God: What I do have, I give to you.

Today’s Scripture: But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” Acts 3:6 ESV

This is all I have. Like Peter and John we can raise others. All I want to do is give away what God has given me.

I believe we ALL have what someone needs. Sure, in general we all have love, grace and help to give but we all have special gifts. Even in Acts 3:2 “they” who laid this lame man at the gate beautiful gave what they had. We may never be known either but we have something to give.

You have something unique. Your combination of God’s woven design for you, your life experience and your place in life make you the one person to give what you do have. The evil one and this world robs us and makes us think what we have is not enough.

It is enough, give what you do have. What I do have, I give to you. I want you to know this joy.

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for what You have given me. Forgive me for hoarding Your gifts and help me to boldly give what I do have. What I do have is Yours and for those You intend. Help me to be faithful to give so others may join in praising the name of Jesus and know that You are our God. Please turn my gaze to those in need. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am made perfect.

Today’s Scripture: For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy. Hebrews 10:14 NLT

The sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, that one offering, made me perfect. No amount of other sacrifices on my part can make me any holier.

I am offering my body as a sacrifice to God yet like the sacrifices of those of an era gone by they will only remind me of my sin. I have made the same sacrifices again and again and they have proven not to take away my sin. In my flesh I am imperfect yet in this one offering of Jesus’ body I am made perfect.

What will we do today to live in His perfection? I am humbled that I have been an enemy of Jesus for so long. I have fought against Him by offering my own sacrifices that have always failed.

I accept Your sacrifice Jesus and thank You for making me perfect.

Do you accept the offering of the body of Jesus Christ?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, thank You for offering the body of Jesus Christ for me. Forgive me for trusting in my own sacrifices. I am humbled LORD and confess I have been like an enemy. I believe and accept the offering of Jesus Christ and know I am only made perfect in Him. Help me to live in Your perfection today and to share Your promise. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am praying.

Today’s Scripture: He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Matthew 11:2 NIV

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He said to them “When you pray”. Those words are odd to me. The disciples faced times of not praying just like us. We must not forget or get too distracted to pray.  We have the option and direction for prayer.

As I knelt before God this morning, Jesus’ words came to me and I knew there were instructions for being at this very place. I am praying; here I am.

Jesus’ instructions to the disciples are the same to us today. Matthew 6:6 we are given further instruction: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (NIV)

Our Father will teach us and reward us, are we praying? How do you pray and when do you pray? What rewards have you received?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, how great is Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven today. Give me today’s bread. Forgive me for my trespasses and for the times I do not pray. Lead me not into temptation today and deliver me from evil. I am praying LORD, have me pray as You desire. Amen

Affirmation of God: The LORD is leading me.

Today’s Scripture: even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.  Psalm 139:10 ESV (emphasis mine)

Too wonderful; can something be too wonderful? David is expressing amazement in a God that is beyond our comprehension and beyond wonderful to us in Psalm 139.

No matter where we are the LORD is leading us. “EVEN THERE” are powerful words as we question instinctively is He really here in this sickness, this death, this debt, this trouble, this anxiety. YES, even there.

God knows everything about us and everywhere we are. He made us and we are fearfully and wonderfully made. May we be reminded today that He knitted us together in our mother’s womb and knew we would be where we are today.

Too wonderful to understand? May we trust in the LORD and know He is leading us today and He is going before us into battle. We praise You LORD for Your wonder.

Do you trust the LORD is leading you where you are?

Today’s Prayer: Wonderful and Mighty God. I praise Your name. I can not comprehend Your majesty but my soul knows You very well. Thank You for knitting me into Your design and I trust You are leading me and Your hand is holding me even when I can not see in the darkness. You are my light, I trust You are leading me and I praise You. Amen.
