Affirmation of God: Where my hope perishes; God’s begins.

Today’s Scripture: so I say, “My endurance has perished; so has my hope from the LORD.”

The third chapter of Lamentations takes me from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. I find that if I look to God again and again the whole day long I find His hope.

Sitting in silence with Him; raising my heart and my hands to Him I find compassion and love. My hope is in the love of the LORD. When my soul is seeking God, sometimes in my hopelessness, it is there in the silence while waiting on Him that I come to know true hope.

Lamentations 3:29 states “there may yet be hope”. I test and examine my ways and I return to the LORD. When I return to Him I realize He is near, very near and the source of hope.

Do you need to call on the LORD for help and hope? Call, there may yet be hope.

Today’s Prayer: LORD, I praise You and call on You for help and hope. I know the hopelessness of my hope and I thank You for the hope Your love and compassion provide. I find all of my hope in You LORD. Help me to examine my ways and to return to you again and again the whole day long. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am at home with God.

Today’s Scripture: even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:17 ESV

There is so much comfort knowing that we are at home with God. No matter where we are we are at home with Him. Returning from a wonderful extended vacation the comfort was exhilarating to be back in my prayer space. However, I was reminded and rewarded to know that no matter where I am, I am at home with Him.

Here in John 14 Jesus promises a home in Heaven He has prepared for us and the wonder is we can experience this homecoming wherever we are today. When our hearts are turned to Him we are home.

He removes all fear and provides all the comforts of home. Peace, love and reliance in where the Father is. Where is He? He is with us.

Are you thankful that God lives with you?

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son Jesus and for Your Spirit of truth that lives with me. I praise and thank You for desiring to live with me. In You I am at home. Amen

Affirmation of God: I delight in wisdom every day.

Today’s Scripture: I was a skilled craftsman beside Him. I was His delight every day, always rejoicing before Him., Proverbs 8:30 Holman

The LORD, we are told, set wisdom up before this earth was formed. He delighted in her daily; shouldn’t we?

We have insight and strength as long as we grasp that WE don’t have it but that it is found in her. The wisdom of God is available to us. It is our mission to love her and seek her out. In Proverbs 8:17 we are promised that if we love wisdom and seek her diligently we will find her. When we find her we find life.

Equipped with wisdom, the counsel and craftsman of God Himself we find the life we can delight in.

If we delight daily in wisdom as God does we are filled with delight day after day. Why do we spend more time and energy seeking the answers over seeking the source of answers?

LORD, help me to seek Your wisdom. Fill me with the love and delight You designed for me.

Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am seeking You and Your wisdom. I delight in Your wisdom. In You I find life. LORD teach me to seek for wisdom diligently today and every day. I love Your wisdom and desire to live there daily. Share with me the delight You have in wisdom day after day. I rejoice with You. Amen

Affirmation of God: From here I seek the LORD.

Today’s Scripture: But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV

I cannot pretend to understand where you are. Many days I do not really know where I am but this I do know and believe is that IF, FROM THERE we seek the LORD our God we will find Him if we seek Him with all of our heart and with all of our soul.

We are not told we will find the outcome we desire or expect but we will find the LORD. I no longer seek outcomes I only desire to seek the LORD and in doing so I have found Him.

I meet the Holy Spirit right here where I am. I ask Him to teach me another area of my heart and soul I have yet to know how to search. LORD, I need You to open my heart and soul today so I can seek You with ALL of it.

I live in seeking; right here and right now. Do you?

Today’s Prayer: My LORD and My God, I give You my heart and soul and ask You to teach me how to seek You with all of me. From here dear LORD I seek You. Thank You for promising that we will find You. Reveal Yourself and Your will for me today right here where I am and guide me where You desire for me to go. Amen

Affirmation of God: I seek God.

Today’s Scripture: that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, Acts 17:27 ESV

How do you seek God?

Perhaps we may feel our way toward and find Him as Acts 17 suggests. Compelled to seek God this morning I even turned to Google and found this great link:  http://www.openbible.info/topics/seeking_god   that I would like to share with you.

If we seek God diligently we will find Him according to these scriptures. When we seek God continually with all of our hearts, minds and souls we find Him and feel Him. If we seek Him first, He is first.

Over and over we are told in scripture that if we seek we will find. This seeking requires our whole hearts. May we feel with our hearts and seek with all of them. We will find He is not far from each of us and we will find His great, unsearchable and marvelous ways.

Have you ever experienced in your seeking that you find the unsearchable? How does it feel?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your promises to us. Thank You for revealing Yourself in our seeking. Teach me LORD with Your Spirit to seek You with my whole heart. Please open my heart so I may know its wholeness in You. Search my heart so my heart may continually search You. Amen

Affirmation of God: I find glorious rest in Jesus.

Today’s Scripture: In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious. Isaiah 11:10 NIV

Seven hundred years before Jesus was born Isaiah promised that we would find glorious rest in Jesus. Two thousand years later this prophesy proves true.

The world progresses yet the one true place of rest is in Jesus Christ. Look around your life. Look around this world today. Everywhere people are striving and fighting for positions and ideologies. Unrest is everywhere; except in Christ. Rest is not found in being right but being in Christ.

Are you tired? Find rest, glorious rest in Jesus. This rest is not inaction but one of peace that Christ completes God’s plan. Living in Christ and sharing His delight in the fear of the LORD is the only place our souls find true rest and peace.

No matter what we face today we can turn our hearts, our minds and our souls to Christ and find rest. Trusting in His will and His Spirit brings rest, glorious rest.

Do you trust Jesus enough to rest in Him?

Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for Jesus and Your Spirit that rests upon me. Thank You for those who prophesied His coming and for His life and gifts to us. His example, His grace and His Spirit give us guidance and rest. LORD, my heart delights in the fear of You and my soul is Yours. Thank You for Your glorious rest. Amen

Affirmation of God: I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart.

Today’s Scripture: Of David. I give you thanks, O LORD, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; Psalm 138:1 ESV

Like David, I give thanks to God with my whole heart. I have found no better way to begin a day as David does here in Psalm 138:2. “To bow down and give thanks to the LORD for His love and faithfulness.”

The whole of my heart I cannot conceive nor the wholeness of God. But I can give thanks with all that I have and know God knows the sound of my gratefulness.

On the day I called, You answered me says David. On this day, the LORD has answered me and strengthened my soul with thanksgiving.

Do you give the LORD thanks with your whole heart? How has your soul been strengthened?

Today’s Prayer: Father God of Heaven, I thank You with my whole heart for Your love and Your faithfulness. Thank You for hearing me and answering me. I love You Father and will sing Your praises always. Thank You for answering my heart and filling it to make it whole. Amen

Affirmation of God: The LORD changes and directs my heart.

Today’s Scripture: I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 11:19 NIV

Thank God it is He who changes our hearts and puts a new spirit in us. Have you had good luck in trying to change your own heart? Making changes on your own?

True lasting change in our hearts and spirits comes from the LORD alone. It is the Holy Spirit who moves us and directs us. God knows our every thought and He knows what we are capable of.

Like Ezekiel here in the eleventh chapter I fall down on my face and cry out to the LORD with a loud voice. LORD, I trust You with my heart and my spirit. Please guide me with Your Holy Spirit and remove all things that divide my heart.

Have you noticed how God has changed your heart? God changes us so we will live as His. He also calls us to go and tell everything He has shown us.

What has God shown you?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, I only fear You. Please give me an undivided heart. I put all of my trust in You to change my heart and to direct my spirit. Your heart and Your Spirit is all I desire. LORD, You know my every thought. I have proven that I need You to change all of me. LORD, I cry out to You now to change me as You will. In Jesus’ name I do pray. Amen

Affirmation of God: I find life in God’s Spirit.

Today’s Scripture: And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.” Ezekiel 37:14 ESV

God’s Word proves itself true and man proves his nature as well. With God and His Spirit we have life; in the fear of the land men lose hope.

This dry bone story in Ezekiel 37 seemed like a fairy tale in my younger days yet I have now experienced its truth. When I seek security in things and rulers of this world I lose hope. When I seek God and His Spirit within me I find life.

God’s Spirit is in us and in His Spirit we find life. We are God’s dwelling place and when we live in Him we find the fullness of life.

Can you ask the Spirit of the LORD to breathe life into you today? He will do it! Is your faith today in things of man or God? See which one gives you life.

Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, thank You for your breath of life. Thank You for Your Spirit which gives me life and the land You intend for me. Thank You for life, Your life that fills us with Your hope, Your joy and Your security. I am asking you to keep my eyes and my spirit upon You. Amen

Affirmation of God: I am moved by the Spirit.

Today’s Scripture: Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required, Luke 2:27 NIV

Today is the day. Do you think Simeon thought that as he headed to the temple that day? What if Simeon had hit the snooze button or found something else to do that day? Not only would he have missed baby Jesus but He would have missed his calling to confirm Jesus as the Messiah to the world. Simeon went where the Spirit moved him and found himself in the right place.

When moved by the Spirit we find ourselves in the right place too. If we are moved or prevented by moving by fears and demands of this world we may miss our opportunities to give others what God has given us.

God has a plan for you and me too. Like Simeon our purpose is unique and may be world changing. I pray we listen and are moved by the Spirit to be exactly where the LORD desires.

Are you moved by the Spirit?

Today’s Prayer: Yahweh, thank You for Your Spirit. Move me by Your Spirit. Speak clearly LORD. Continue to prepare my heart, my soul and my mind for what You have planned for me. Please give me full nourishment of Your daily bread that will prepare me for this day, for the hour You intend for me to serve Your purpose. Amen.
