Affirmation of God: I am following Jesus.

Today’s Scripture: Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.” John 21:19 NLT

Now what? Jesus has risen and after reviewing the ends of all four of the Gospels to clearly to see what comes next I know I am to follow Jesus. Just as the disciples were dazed and confused we too can be unclear as to where to turn next.

In Matthew Jesus assured us He is with us always. In Mark, Jesus promised He would work with us as we go. In Luke Jesus encouraged us to remember that we are clothed with the power that is on high. John stresses that if we love Him we will follow Him.

We are called to go, make disciples and feed His sheep. Sometimes we are still dazed and confused as to where to go. However, if we will love Him and keep our eyes on Him then following is less confusing than going.

Do you want direction? Follow Jesus.

Today’s Prayer: LORD, thank You for our risen Savior. Thank you for clothing us in Your promises. I trust in Your power and look to Jesus to follow Him and go where You are calling me. I love You LORD and I am following the example and Word who is Jesus. Guide me Lord Jesus. Amen

We always need direction! It doesn’t get any better than to follow Jesus! Thank you, Tom, and God bless you!

  2. Desiray says:

He is the only one who will give us clear direction, that is why the Psalmist says seek Him early in the morning!

    • Tom Raines says:

Thanks Desiray, early and often do we seek Him to come to know and follow His will. LORD we seek to know Your will and look to you for direction. Thank You for guiding us. Thankful for the guidance of David and others who lead us to Him! Blessings as you follow!

dazed and confused about where to go! yes, that’s me …so often I stop and question if I’m going in the right direction, you remind me if I stay close …He’ll lead. I can trust that’s true and trust that if I’m going in the wrong direction, He’s big enough to turn me around! (does it always circle back to trust?) hugs

    • Tom Raines says:

Thanks Robin and yes it does always seem to turn back to trusting in His power and His promises, doesn’t it?! We have to live there. If we dwell with Him He dwells with us. When I dwell elsewhere I end up following and trusting the wrong things…blessings my friend:)
