Affirmation of God: I only need God.

Today’s Scripture: and David strapped his sword over his armor. And he tried in vain to go, for he had not tested them. Then David said to Saul, “I cannot go with these, for I have not tested them.” So David put them off. 1 Samuel 17:38 ESV

We all know David killed Goliath but do we recall what David equipped himself with besides the sling and stones?

David was equipped and confident in the LORD. The LORD who had delivered him from previous trials would win this battle too. Although we may not have faced lions and bears in our lives we have faced battles that we know it was only the LORD who delivered us.

Like David, our faith is in the LORD and not in our preparations or the armor the world provides. We can put everything else away. When we are fighting the LORD’s battles we only need Him.

Do you believe God is all you need or are you looking for some armor?

Today’s Prayer: Almighty God thank You for delivering me from life’s battles. I know it is You LORD who brings success to Your will. Remind me as I go into battle that You are all I need. I put away all other things but You LORD. My confidence and my assurance are only in You. Amen

I loved the ‘put everything away but Him’. Praying to do just that Tom! Thank you and God bless you!
