Affirmation of God: I am thankful the LORD is patient with me.

Today’s Scripture: The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 NIV

Blew it again! Do you ever react to others, think totally impure thoughts, or do things contrary to what you know is right? Where does that come from?

I started in 1 John this morning where I was reminded that God is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we will confess our sins. I CONFESS LORD, I AM A WRETCHED SINNER! So now, please do Your thing…

I have confessed, I have asked Him to take it all yet boom there goes my tongue again or there is that thought or action. I am thankful that God continued taking me to 2 Peter this morning to see that He is patient with me.

The final verse in the book instructs us to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” I am growing LORD and I need You to do Your thing to help me grow and be cleansed by YOU.

Are you thankful God is patient with you?

Today’s Prayer: LORD, thank You for Your patience and Your grace. LORD, You made me and know me and my heart. My flesh is weak and I confess all of my sins to You. I trust You to grow me in grace and knowledge of Jesus. I trust Your love and pray Your love and Your Spirit cleanse every hidden and known place in me. Amen

    Thank you, Tom – and, YES, I am SO grateful!

    Heavenly Father, but a wretched sinner I surely am.
    Saved only by the Blood of the Precious Lamb.
    I confess my weaknesses and all my sins to You;
    Help me to cling to all that is righteous and true.
    Purify and cleanse with your glorious grace;
    Your love and Your mercy I forever embrace!

    My God is so patient with me! He never rushes my faltering steps or grimaces at my hesitations or even my back steps! He urges me forward again and again. As Angela from Meetingintheclouds would say: “We serve and amazing God!”
